Keeping you updated on what the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch have been up too!

This is our tenth Newsletter and the idea is to keep each other informed from time to time of what is happening in our residential area, both from a security perspective and then also for general community information sharing.

Hello fellow residents,

As we approach the end of 2018, we thought to update you on what we’ve been busy with.

2018 has been a great year for the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch, with 46 street communication groups now formed, allowing BNW to talk to residents in around 900 households in Ballito.  A few complexes have joined and others have expressed interest too.   Please read on in this Newsletter to see how one street group has come together and really made amazing changes to the Park in their street.  We also sponsored Public Park Signboards earlier this year, something that we believe has helped reduce incidents of misuse.

RE/MAX Dolphin Realtors have gone the extra mile with their ambitious #SaferStreets Fundraiser, allowing the Ballito and Salt Rock Neighbourhood Watch and Community Policing Forums just over R 250,000 to embark on our ambitious Automatic Number Plate recognition Camera installations at entry and exit points.  This couldn’t have been achieved without the generous businesses and residents, including BNW Members  – Thank you for your integral part in this Fundraiser, we really do appreciate it immensely!

We will end of 2018 with an AGM and Public Meeting on 21st November at Striders Running Club, Dolphin Crescent, Ballito.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Our Automatic Number Plate Recognition Camera Project has taken traction, with a Request for Proposals (RFP) in circulation for suitable service providers to engage with us.

The RFP is available on our websites www.ballitonw.org.za and www.srnw.co.za

The North Coast Courier have generously offered us an RFP Advert which will appear in this weeks Newspaper.

A few of our BNW Members got together and had great fun supporting the Salt Rock Neighbourhood Watch Quiz Night on 11 September 2018 at Siggi’s Restaurant in Salt Rock.

We are pleased to share that our brainy bunch won for the second time in a row!
