Ward 6 Community Safety Report for May 2020

May 1 – Residents in Eland Road reported intruders jumped into their properties. A 3m ladder was found at the one house.  Residents also complained about the vacant plot in Kudu Road, which they say the suspects may hide in.
May 6 – Two alerts on Snipr™ regarding stolen vehicles.  A Kia Rio Sedan reported stolen on 3 May in Ntuzuma. One suspect was arrested.  Black Toyota hatchback was flagged to have robbed the owners at a Build It in Hillcrest.  Four occupants were arrested and the vehicle recovered.
May 8 – Another Snipr™ success when a White VW hatch sedan was flagged in Ballito. The vehicle was reported stolen in Nigel, Pretoria West. The vehicle was reported stolen on 28 April and recovered at the Shell garage in Ballito.
May 19 & 23 – Resident in Ashley Road reported small items were stolen from his window on 19th.  On 23rd alarms were triggered and the intruder jumped over the fence and ran away.  
May 23 – Break-in at Adrienne Road.  A Lenovo laptop was stolen.
May 23 – Break-in at a holiday unit in Compensation Beach Road. No further details.
May 24 – Card jamming at Standard Bank ATM Lifestyle.  R2,000 was stolen from the account.
May 28 – Standard Bank ATM Lifestyle.  Attempted stealing of bank card.
May 29 – A woman was attacked in Salt Rock and dragged into the bushes near The Atrium complex by a group of men. Her cellphone was taken. She was assisted by IPSS Security. No further details.
